Pipeline Quality Gas

contact

Production of pipeline quality natural gas from biogas is achieved by utilizing a patented and propriety technology developed from proven Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology.  This technology has been modified specifically to treat biogas.  The system removes the contaminants to produce pipeline quality gas in an easily operated system with a very low maintenance.

image2Biogas is normally contains approximately 65 to 73% methane (CH4), 27 to 35% carbon dioxide (CO2), and from few parts per million (ppm) to 16,000 ppm hydrogen sulfide (H2S).

The ability to remove water vapor, H2S, and CO2 in a single step is the key feature of this patented and proprietary PSA technology. The technology and the equipment are developed based on a wide ranging and proven experience and has been utilized in natural gas purification and conditioning for decades.  It has been developed and modified specifically to treat biogas.

Guild Biogas Purification SystemThe biogas collected by the installation of floating cover system from anaerobic lagoons is compressed and processed by the modified PSA system.  The impurities, namely CO2, H2S, and moisture/water are removed to pipeline specifications (typically 1-3% CO2, less than 4 ppm H2S, and dry) and the methane flows through a bed of properly designed adsorbent at feed pressure where it is available for pipeline sales.  The separated CO2 and H2S along with a small percentage of biogas, combined together known as tail gas, are burned in a specially designed new or retrofitted flare.

These systems are noted for high reliability, unattended operation, and environmental friendliness.  This system can be installed where the influent biogas flow is as little as 100 scfm to as high as 2,000 scfm.
