AERG has installed several HDPE lined anaerobic lagoons and floating cover system for capturing biogas from anaerobic lagoons.  The floating cover system placed on the top of the lagoon captures the biogas produced by the lagoon. The edges of the floating cover system are anchored along the top of the berm to provide a gas tight seal.  Main components of our floating cover system are:

  • Large-scale pre-designed 100 mil HDPE geomembrane panels joined together by thermal welding
  • Anchoring of the edges of the floating cover system in an anchor trench along the berm
  • Perimeter perforated piping to collect biogas underneath the cover system
  • Ballasting/weight tubes placed over the cover to hold the cover in place, provide compartments for gas to safely accumulate, and help encourage surface ponding for better storm water removal.
  • Provisions for removal of accumulated rainwater collected by the covers
  • Four–inch diameter adjustable passive emergency vents installed on the cover to allow release of the biogas in case of a power loss or blower failure or to limit the storage of biogas underneath the cover system.
  • Six-inch diameter cleanout ports installed around the edged of the lagoon for cleaning of the gas extraction piping, if necessary.

We have well trained liner repair crew ready to mobilize to the site for repair work.  We also supply all the equipment and materials required for the repair work.
